BUILDING 615...
is a 3-story, 39,000 sq. ft concrete structure with structural steel and concrete decks. After exiting the Digesters at Building 610, sludge will be transferred to B615 for final dewatering, storage, and eventual load-out into trucks as Class A Biosolids. Official construction at Building 615 kicked off in July of 2023 with uncovering piles that were poured back in Q1 of 2021. The structure of Building 615 is slated to be complete in January of 2025 while the mechanical build-out and final completion date is scheduled for March of 2026.

KEY EQUIPMENT
FUN FACTS:
1.
As the end of the Solids Treatment line, B615 will produce Class
A Biosolids that can be used as fertilizer.
2.
At peak flow, the Belt Filter Presses can process approximately
288,000 lbs of dry cake per day, which is the weight of about 480
California Sea Lions.
3.
B615 has two Foul Air Fans for the Truck Bays, one fan can
produce a maximum of 25,700 CFM in a 42" duct, which is
approximately 7.6 Mph. The average wind speed in San Francisco
Bay Area is 7.3 Mph.
4. B615 will have roughly 6200 cubic yards of concrete once
top-off is complete. That is almost two olympic pools filled with
concrete.
5. Each truck bay (2 silos) can typically store up to 45,000 lbs
of biosolids, which is like hosting a party for a couple of elephants,
a large herd of cows, or maybe even a pair of blue whales! Talk
about a weighty situation!
6. The silos discharger process material load across all four
loadout conveyor gates at 2400 cubic feet per hour, like a master
chef divvying up ingredients for a perfect recipe.
7. B615 has over 40,000 linear feet of conduit running through
it. This is enough to go over the Golden Gate Bridge nearly five
times.
